UDA Announces Repeat Phase II Grassroots Elections Across 18 Counties

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party has officially scheduled Repeat Phase II of its grassroots elections for Thursday, April 26, 2026. The announcement, issued by the Office of the Secretary General, outlines a massive logistical exercise aimed at solidifying the party’s leadership structure across the country.

While most scheduled counties will head to the polls on Thursday, the party noted that Kajiado County will conduct its elections separately on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

Massive Candidate Turnout and Voter Reach

The scale of the upcoming exercise reflects the party's intensive mobilization efforts. According to the briefing:

•450,000 Candidates: Over skip-half a million members have registered to contest various positions. These roles span 20 distinct categories at the polling center level, including representatives for women, youth, professional groups, MSMEs/traders, farmers, and religious groups.

•8 Million Voters: The party expects a turnout of approximately eight million registered members to participate in the exercise.

•9,117 Polling Centres: Voting will be localized across thousands of centers to ensure maximum accessibility for the grassroots membership.

             High-Tech Voting Process

Building on the technical standards set in previous rounds, the UDA confirmed it will deploy end-to-end technology to manage the election.

•Electronic Tablets: Approximately 9,500 electronic voting tablets have already been deployed to polling centers.

•Real-Time Results: To ensure transparency, results will be uploaded to a public portal hosted on the official party website (www.uda.ke).

                 Logistics and Expectations

The party has already successfully concluded grassroots elections in 25 counties, resulting in the election of 235,923 officials. This upcoming phase in 18 counties—including Kisumu, Siaya, Migori, Kisii, Bungoma, Machakos, and Mombasa, among others—is expected to produce an additional 182,240 elected officials.

   Election Day Schedule:

Start Time: 8:00 AM

End Time: 5:00 PM

With this phase, the UDA continues its mission to establish a "direct mandate from the people," further entrenching its presence as a digitally-driven and grassroots-heavy political movement in Kenya.
